Sam is a multi-award-winning filmmaker, producer and director with nearly a decade of experience in video production. A Computer Science background underpins his work in the Tech and AI space, where he is drawn to the stories beneath complex subjects and the search for truth in a world that is ever more complicated, confusing and misleading.
Recent work with AI Safety community includes the on-screen graphics for the 80,000 Hours' AI in Context YouTube channel (10M+ views) as well as producing and presenting a four-video AI safety series funded by the Future of Life Institute. Sam has completed video production work for organisations like METR, Far.ai and Epoch.ai
Earlier work spans clients including GlaxoSmithKline, Shell, The Economist, UCL and Imperial College, alongside an internationally-distributed independent documentary, The Vanishing Strings of the Andes, which screened at 22 film festivals and won three awards for Best Short Documentary.
Sam runs his work through Watkins Films Ltd from the south of England.
